Savoury Honey Beer Bread

2 C. (250 gm.) wholewheat flour
1 C. (125 gm.) all-purpose flour
2 Tbsp. (10 gm.) baking powder
1 tsp(2 gm.) each of rosemary, thyme and oregano

2 Tbsp. (16 gm.) honey
1 bottle/can (12 oz. or 355 ml) beer
(at room temp.)
4 Tbsp (56 gm.) butter, melted

IMG_1546 Beer BreadPreheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9” x 5” x 3” loaf pan.
In a medium mixing bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder and herbs. In another bowl, warm the honey gently either in the microwave (for about 10 sec.) or over a pot of hot water. Combine the beer and honey, mixing thoroughly. Add the beer/honey mixture to the dry ingredients until just mixed.
Pour half of the melted butter into the loaf pan. Spoon the batter into the pan and then pour the rest of the butter on top.

Bake for 50 to 60 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Serve immediately.
